If you have little ones of your own or are looking to buy nature-inspired books for some children in your life, this is the blog post about the best children's picture books about nature and the environment is for you. As a former nature educator and certified environmental educator, this list has been compiled over many years of working with kids. And picture books aren’t just for children. I still delight in reading and enjoying a good picture book. There are so many to love on this list. I love learning about new books. If you have a favorite that isn’t listed here, feel free to shoot me an email and I’ll check it out. My goal is to continue to grow this list and keep adding great suggestions. Listen to the Language of Trees is all about the magic of mycelium. New scientific research has provided evidence that trees can actually talk to each other. This lovely picture book helps simplify the science and is a gorgeous introduction to the science of fungal networks. Kids and adults alike will love the images and simple text. There’s even a section in the back of the book that explains the science in very simple terms.
